A) Sheng Siong Singing Competition
Four children aged 4 to 8 years old will participate in the singing competition each week where two will continue on to the semi-finals. From there, out of the 12 kids in the semi-finals, six will enter the grand finals. The Top 3 will be crowned and there’s also an additional award for the Best Costume. The children will be selected by the three judges on their entertainment value and creativity.
B) Game 1: 昇菘爆喜赢奖乐
Three contestants participate in this game with a Q&A format. The contestant who presses the buzzer the fastest and subsequently answers the question correctly gets to open a square on the gameboard of 60 squares - 10 squares with $1000 each; 10 with $500; 20 with $300 and 20 with $100. The contestant then wins the cash prize attached to the square.
Besides that, a total of 20 envelopes are hidden in the squares on the gameboard. These envelopes can contain either an additional cash prize of $2000 or an ‘evil smiley card’, which will cause the contestant to lose all of his/ her winnings thus far.
If the contestant opens a square with an envelope attached, he/she can choose to open the envelope or give it to one of the other contestants. If he/she fails to make the decision within 10 seconds, the contestant has to keep the envelope. The studio contestants will split their total winnings with a home audience.
Game 2: 遍地开花寻宝乐
This studio action game is inspired from the Mexican party game Pinata. Two huge star-shaped paper containers will be hanged in the studio. There will be styrofoam medallions representing prizes of respective value (two medallions of $1000 each, four of $500 each, 30 of $100 each and 60 of $50 each) wrapped in these containers.
Contestants will work in teams of two. One will be blindfolded and required to hit and break these containers. The prizes they win will be based on the number of medallions they collect.
Game 3: 天旋地转乐翻天
In this studio-based action game, two contestants will be required to anchor their forehead against a baseball bat and rotate 10 times. Each contestant is then required to bring a basket of basketballs and bring them to a starting line 10m away, and throw the basketball into a basketball hoop.
Each basketball will have a value tied to it (1 of $1500, one of $1000, one of $500, one of $100) and he/she will have to start throwing from the highest valued ball. The cash prize won will be based on the value of the balls that make it into the hoop.
C) Sheng Siong’s Lucky Shopper
Three lucky shoppers will be caught on camera each week and their photos shown on the programme and via posters in Sheng Siong. He/ she needs to be in touch with the production team by the cut-off date/ time for each week. Each shopper stands to win $1000 and will be invited to the following week’s programme to collect his/her prize.
D) Call-out segment
There will be two rounds of call-out each week. The guest artiste will draw three lucky homeviewers in each round and make phone calls to these shoppers. There will be four envelopes labeled “昇” 、 “菘” 、 “超” 、 “市”. In each envelope, there will be a number (50、60、80 or 100) and this indicates the multiple of cash prize that the homeviewer stand to win.
The cash prize will be calculated as such: the number in envelope multiplied by the amount spent at Sheng Siong based on the receipt. (These lucky draw entries are all receipts from Sheng Siong with shoppers’ particulars filled in.).
