One day, the magpies, which create the bridge for their annual date, propose a plan for them to elope. The magpies say that if Cowherd and Weaving Maiden run away with each other, they would never have to be apart again.

Weaving Maiden Wang Tianqin (Joanne Peh) was born into a small but happy family. However, her parents died in an accident when she was five years old. She thus became an orphan. She was adopted by a wealthy but mysterious lady who is known as Madam Wang (Chen Liping). From then on, Tianqin began to lead an exceptionally comfortable life. Cowherd Yang Tianying (Elvin Ng) is not as lucky. When he was born, his birth mother abandoned him in a rubbish dump. He was sent to an orphanage, and was subsequently adopted by a mysterious man named Yang Jian (Yao Wenlong). His childhood was fraught with hardship from then onwards.
Tianqin and Tianying live in the same place but in different environments. Every year on the 7th day in the 7th month of the lunar calendar, they would run into each other somehow. As strangers, they walk past each other, or even brush past each other, but they never met or got to know each other. What is even stranger is the fact that Madam Wang tries her best to get them to meet, while Yang Jian does his best to keep them apart. This spells the strange connection between Tianqin and Tianying, as well as the secret battle between Madam Wang and Yang Jian...
Fiona Xie as Chang 'E The Moon Goddess, Lu Yue
It turns out that after Cowherd and Weaving Maiden eloped, they unwittingly started a trend. Chang'E the Moon Goddess (Fiona Xie) and Pigsy (Ben Yeo) decided to follow in their footsteps and elope. Alas, they were also caught and banished to Earth as human beings. The unhealthy trend of elopements raised many eyebrows in the Heavenly Court and some deities were displeased.
Chang'E was born into a poor family. Her name is Lu Yue, and people call her Ah Moon. As she lived her childhood in poverty, she is determined to become wealthy no matter what it takes, even to marry a rich man. She has no qualms stooping to unscrupulous means to attain her goal.
On the other hand, Pigsy becomes Master Zhu Wanjin, the son of a wealthy businessman. He is an extravagant spendthrift with a pompous attitude. Besides being in a relationship with Ah Moon where they are merely using each other, he falls in love with Tianqin.
One day, there is talk of revolution in the Heavenly Court. Erlang Deity Yang Jian (Yao Wenlong) leads a group of deities in pushing for a new system of constitutional monarchy in the Heavenly Court, and for the Jade Emperor's position to be filled by election and votes instead of having the Heavenly Court ruled by the Jade Emperor forever. The Jade Emperor has been in power since the beginning of time and is really tired of running the Heavenly Court. He certainly does not mind giving up his position, especially with more and more difficult matters requiring his attention lately. However, the Queen Mother (Chen Liping) of the West disapproves of his desire to give up the throne and insists that he must take part in the elections.
The Queen Mother proposed a gamble with Yang Jian. If Cowherd and Weaving Maiden can love each other even on Earth, they will be allowed to come back to Heaven and order will be restored in the Heavenly Court. If not, the Jade Emperor will give up the throne. Yang Jian takes up the challenge. From then onwards, the Heavenly Court is split into two camps. Yang Jian comes to Earth to raise Cowherd (Tianying) while the Queen Mother adopts Weaving Maiden (Tianqin). The Queen Mother and Yang Jian begin their ferocious battle to manipulate the fate of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden, creating much trouble and almost disrupt peace on Earth...
On the other hand, Wu Gang (Zhang Yaodong) has been secretly in love with Chang'E for a long time and is extremely worried about her banishment. The magpies reveal that Wu Gang was the one who instigated them to suggest elopement to Cowherd and Weaving Maiden. Elopement is a crime punishable by Heavenly laws. Thus, the Queen Mother gives Wu Gang the option to atone for his crime by doing good. He is to become her 'special agent', assigned with the task of protecting Cowherd and Weaving Maiden. In order to be able to meet Chang'E on Earth, he agrees to carry out this 'mission impossible' and becomes listed as one of the criminals wanted by Heavenly Guards.
Tianqin and Tianying find out everything that happened. The two are reunited and fall in love again. However, their upbringing and characters have been steered in different directions and they now face many differences. This results in a love life fraught with many fights. In addition to their troubles, Chang'E - jealous of Tianqin, and Pigsy - in love with Tianqin, try to destroy the love between Tianqin and Tianying.
Wu Gang quietly stands by Chang'E unfailingly. However, she does not feel a thing for him. While in a battle, Wu Gang and Yang Jian use their Heavenly powers and create many interesting incidents as a result...
The perfect love between Tianqin and Tianying is about to be destroyed. They may never get to see each other ever again. History will change and Earth will be sent into chaos. Will everyone on Earth be able to survive and overcome this crisis?
