Laksa stalls abound on the Katong Street lined with famous eateries, and the well-established 'Wen's Laksa' is one of them...

Wen He (Tay Ping Hui), the eldest son in the Wen family, returns to Singapore after a 13-year stay in Britain, with his daughter in tow. Unbeknown to all, Wen He is counting his days, having contracted bone cancer, and the reason for his return is to have someone take care of his daughter.

Upon his reunion with his family, Wen He decides to hide his illness from them. For his father Wen Shui (Ye Shipin), it is a comfort to have him back in the family, but his siblings – second brother Wen Quan (Andrew Seow), third sister Wen Qing (Jeanette Aw) and youngest sister Wen Xin (Le Yao) – are not as welcoming.

Especially finding Wen He a thorn in the flesh, Wen Qing cannot wait to kick him and his daughter out of the house. She tries ways and means to throw them out, but without success, as Wen Shui is adamant about keeping them.

Wen Qing has a hot temperament and an aggressive nature. On account that her father Wen Shui has problems standing for long periods, she helps him run his laksa stall. However she does not channel much effort into the stall, for her real ambition is to be a model. Her hot temper often gets her into trouble with people, who then usually take it out on the laksa stall.

Wen Quan works as an AVP of a bank. He is full of himself and filled with ambitions. Being the one with the greatest achievements in the family, he is the apple of his father’s eyes.

Wen Xin works as a director at a TV station. She is a kind-hearted and cheerful young lady with a bubbly personality.

Wen Qing is full of grouses about Wen He and so deliberately makes things difficult for him. She eventually decides to wash her hands off the laksa stall and stomps off to pursue her dream of being a model. With no one left to man the stall, Wen He, who had been a chef in Britain, becomes the best person to take over the business.

Things are messy when Wen He first takes over the stall, but he soon gets the hang of the trade with everyone at the coffeeshop helping him, especially Ding Zhenzhu (Cynthia Koh), who harbours special feelings for him.

Zhenzhu, who is an ang gu kueh seller by day, and a beer promoter by night, makes advances on Wen He. But Wen He has feelings only for Wen Qing, whom he can only secretly love in his heart. Wen He is actually not Wen Shui’s flesh and blood. This is one secret, apart from his illness, which Wen He has been keeping from everyone.

Wen Quan gets fired by the bank and decides to set up his own laksa stall. He asks Wen Shui for the secret recipe of Wen’s Laksa. Wen Shui denies having it, but Wen Quan does not believe him. In the midst of the argument, the secret that Wen He is not Wen Shui’s real son is let out.

While the siblings learn to accept the truth about Wen He not being their real brother, Wen He and Wen Qing begin on a relationship. When Wen Shui learns of this budding romance, he hits the roof, screaming strong objections to it. Conflicts arise between father and daughter. Trapped in the dreadful fix, Wen He has no choice but to move out.

Soon after she learns that Wen He is seeing Wen Qing, Zhenzhu seduces Wen He into having an affair with her on her birthday.

At this juncture, Wen He’s ex-wife, Anqi (Teo Ser Li), returns to Singapore with the intention of bringing Wen He’s daughter back to Britain. But the Wen family will not allow her to take the young child away. Anqi then spills the beans about Wen He’s cancer. Not long after, Zhenzhu discovers she is pregnant.

How is Wen He going to handle the love triangle? And will be survive his illness?
